Chippa United goalkeeper coach, Sean Louw, has said Super Eagles stopper, Stanley Nwabali, will not return to the club.

Nwabali’s future with the South African side has been uncertain since he shone for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

After losing the AFCON final to the hosts Ivory Coast, he played a crucial role as Chippa reached the Nedbank Cup semi-final and kept a total of 12 clean sheets in all competitions.

Louw has now said he expects the 27-year-old not to be at the club next season.

“On physical hard copy paper, I don’t know how many offers he has received, but verbally, he has around 10 or even 12 offers. He is definitely not coming back to Chippa next season,” Louw told FarPost.

“When [Nwabali] arrived at Chippa, he wasn’t very proficient with his footwork, unable to play from the back. However, he has improved his footwork significantly.”
