Just three days away to Christmas celebration, many people have been reportedly killed as a 40-feet container fell on cars in Lagos State.

As at the time of compiling this report, nobody could ascertain the cause of the fall as residents of Cele Bus Stop, where the incident occurred were battling to rescue the victims.

Reports say a number of persons have died from the incident as emergency workers try to rescue those trapped inside the vehicles.

Nigerians have since reacted to the incident, as they lamented that the Christmas celebration is just a few days away.

A Twitter user, @apongbo said: “Only 1 death, I was there live & u can’t imagine d fine margins wit wc odas escaped. If Nig had a wrkin emgcy sys d guy who didn’t make it; wld ve probably bn saved. U can’t imagine d sadness I felt seeing sum1 struggling helplessly 4 his life. I av never bn more hrtbroken n sad.”

Reacting also, @Django0072 wrote: “Tell me it’s not ojuelegba or towards total fadeyi, cuz na their things like this dey happen pass.”

Another Twitter user, @Uncle_Enemona said, “Kai yah Allah🙏🏾😪If roads are good, vehicles inspections officers are doing their job diligently, road safety aren’t just issuing drivers license to anyhow citizens, Nigerians driving with caution and most importantly follow the road rules and. Mayb pple for day alive today😪.”

@IfeLove42552937 who also commented on the incident, wrote: “Going out and coming back in safe and sound is a miracle these days, especially in Lagos State. Some families are weeping already now. Thoughts and prayers with them 🙏🏿.”

@TobiFasusi had questions begging for answers. “Why this kind thing no go happen when be say everybody dey behave like mad man for lagos.”

@f_ikechukwu who was mad at the driver of the truck, stated: “Thought the Lagos state government told this truckers to move only at night. Now see this havoc on few days to Christmas and end of the year. God pls.”

Reacting further, @Palov9 said: “The safety of everyone/every other vehicle around a semi is the responsibility of the driver of the semi. Sadly, many of those drivers don’t know this. Looks like the murdering driver tried to climb the pavement before tipping over.”

@Deinkhama also asked “No safety awareness in this country..! Why will a truck with load drive on same road with commercial and private vehicles?? RIP
