Confluence Queens’ coach, Whyte Ogbonda says the club is in contention to win the NWFL Premiership Super Six in Asaba.

Despite losing 3-1 to hosts, Delta Queens in the first game, Whyte is not deterred as he believes Confluence Queens have the same chance every team has in the competition.

“Our target is to ensure we do better in the Super Six. I will say we at Confluence Queens as a team is well prepared and ready for the Super Six.

“We have a 100 percent chance of winning the Super Six just like every other team that qualified for the Super Six.

“Like I said earlier, we have all it takes to clinch the league trophy. I think we are better and experienced now than when we played Rivers Angels in Super Four in 2019.

“The team started the league on a very bad note, earning one point out of nine in regular season, as you all know I came to the club a week before the league’s kick off.

“The turning point to our nine matches unbeaten run started after we as a team outlined how shameful it will be if the team is relegated in our time as coaches and players and the importance of being at the Super Six what they stand to gain if we qualify for the Super Six,” he said.

The Confluence city side will take on Edo Queens in matchday 2 on Wednesday, June 07.
