Hosts and one of the pre-tournament favourites for this year’s U20 AFCON Egypt were today held to a scoreless draw by Mozambique in an opening Group A clash.

This will be the first-ever point achieved by Mozambique after they finished pointless on their U20 AFCON debut two years ago.

They owe this result to a stout defending, while Egypt lacked bite upfront even after a bright start to this encounter.

The hosts enjoyed 74% of the ball possession, but they failed to put the ball in the net.

The draw leaves this ‘Group of Death’ very wide open as the Flying Eagles battle Senegal in the second game later today.
